Cindy Shaw has served as Mississippi Power's comptroller since 2008.
She joined Mississippi Power in 1985 after working for a Gulf Coast CPA firm for four years. She started her career with the company as an accountant in the accounting research area and worked in various areas in Accounting and Finance, including budget, financial planning, financial analysis, tax, financial reporting, general ledger and regulatory accounting.
In 1993, Shaw transferred to Customer Services and Marketing, and held positions as supervisor of Budget and Distribution Services, overseeing the budgets in the power delivery and customer services areas and for assisting electric operations management with manpower planning; technical coordinator at the Customer Care Center, with responsibility for monitoring call center performance; and assistant to the vice president of Customer Services and Marketing, with responsibility for the company's compliance program.
Shaw returned to Finance in 1999, where she held various managerial positions, including manager, Budget and Business Unit Support; manager, General Accounting and Tax, and manager, Budget and Financial Planning.
She is a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Shaw holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also graduated from Leadership Gulf Coast, as well as Leadership Mississippi.
She is married to Mike Shaw of Gulfport. They have one daughter, Robin, who is a third-grade teacher.
