The Miramar Lodge is Generating More for its Residents
At Miramar Lodge, a Delta Health Group nursing facility, they are finding new ways to energize their residents. In addition to providing health care services, a quality living environment and activities for its elderly residents, the Miramar Lodge also needed to provide the facility with an adequate power source.

Out with the old and in with the new.
Miramar Lodge last purchased generators in 1966. After years of growth and expansion, the facility no longer had the proper generators needed to accommodate its residents. "We looked at buying a new one out right," said Robert Perry, a Miramar Lodge administrator. "Then we looked into leasing one or buying a use one. We didn't like what we saw from a cost reimbursement standpoint, a financial standpoint or an operating standpoint. Mississippi Power came up with a win-win solution for us and for them."

"Mississippi Power offered Miramar Lodge a financing package for their standby generating equipment," said Ruben Smith, a Health Care Segment Representative for Mississippi Power. "We proposed a package where we financed and maintained the generating equipment. The added expense is just added to their monthly power bill."

Taking care of business (and residents).
Mississippi Power provided Miramar Lodge with an effective generating package and worked closely with facility administrators to create the best financial package possible. "Mississippi Power came in and did a pricing analysis for us to make sure we were getting the most for our money," said Perry. "They not only secured and financed our 100 kw generator, they also continue to manage and maintain it so we can take care of our residents."

Community Awareness
Miramar Lodge administrators weren't aware of all the things Mississippi Power could do for them financially until they got their new generator. "This experience had made us more aware of what Mississippi Power can do for us as an entity and corporation, as well as a friend and neighbor."
