Mississippi Power has proposed building a state-of-the-art electric power plant in Kemper County, Mississippi. The plant will use Mississippi lignite to fuel the cutting edge technology, integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC). By using coal gasification with carbon capture and sequestration, the proposed facility offers Mississippi the chance to take action to make electricity cleaner and cheaper.
