Renewable Energy
Mississippi Power is engaged in finding practical renewable generation options for our region. Renewable energies like solar power and wind turbines often catch the public eye. However, challenges with their consistent and widespread use as a large scale generation source in the Southeast persist.
Sometimes it takes a new approach or resource to help fill a niche. Mississippi Power, along with Southern Company and other groups, continues to research and evaluate the development of those sources in our area that do show promise for producing cost-effective and reliable energy. In addition, we are working with our customers to find cost-effective renewable options and technologies for their homes and/or businesses, as well.
