Getting the lights on and keeping the lights on is one of the things Mississippi Power does best and that was never more important than in the disastrous aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. We demonstrated the extent of that commitment when our 1,200 employees worked to house, feed and lead 12,000 others to get the power restored to those who could receive it in just 12 days after Katrina.
Today, our approach to disaster preparation and recovery remains proactive to safely restore electric service to our customers as quickly as possible in a cost-effective manner. In addition, we want to be informed so that you can prepare and stay connected no matter the size of the storm or cause of an outage.
