Oct. 31 Hurricane Zeta morning update

Below is an update on Mississippi Power’s Hurricane Zeta restoration effort as of 7 a.m., Oct. 31.

  • Significant progress was made throughout the evening as our night shift crews worked safely. We start Day Three with approximately 41,000 customers without service with the majority of those outages between Biloxi and the Bay/Waveland area.
  • Our nearly 1,000-member Storm Team is working safely in full force.
  • Mississippi Power is deploying outside line crew resources from 18 states around the country such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, Ohio and Arkansas.
  • Estimated restoration time of power restored to 95% of customers is by midnight on Monday night, Nov. 2.
  • Three Coastal Mississippi staging sites were mobilized for safe and efficient deployment of storm personnel including, linemen, tree trimmers, engineers, logistics and security.
  • The company has received generous meals prepared for the crews and is thanking these customers through their “Cooking for the Crews” social campaign.
  • Today the company launches “Zeta to Zero” to help customers countdown remaining outages by city.
  • Mississippi Power appreciates the continued patience of our customers and the overwhelming support and well wishes to our crews.
