Fran Forehand

Vice President, Power Delivery and Division Operations

Fran Forehand returned to Mississippi Power in April 2025 as vice president of Power Delivery and Division Operations with oversight of the Coast and Northern Divisions, Power Delivery and Supply Chain. She is responsible for operating and maintaining the company’s electric service to more than 192,000 customers with industry-leading reliability and safety performance.

Forehand previously worked at Mississippi Power from June 2019 to April 2021 as vice president of Customer Service and Operations, a period where she helped the company navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, launched our Grid Investment Strategy and successfully implemented Automated Metering Infrastructure.

She also led safe and resilient responses to several severe weather events, including Hurricane Zeta, Winter Storm Viola and the Easter tornadoes in the Pine Belt. She was responsible for leading the company’s two divisions, Power Delivery, Marketing and Sales, Customer Service and the Customer Care Center.  

Forehand recently served as senior vice president of Transmission at Georgia Power with responsibilities of leading day-to-day Transmission operations, including the planning, designing and construction of the grid of the future for 2.6 million customers. She was previously vice president of Power Delivery at Georgia Power. In this role, she was responsible for the planning, design, operations, construction and maintenance of Georgia Power’s Distribution and Transmission systems.

Prior to joining Mississippi Power in 2019, Forehand held several leadership positions at Georgia Power, including vice president of the Northeast Region, vice president of the East Region and manager of the Metro North Region.

Forehand started her Southern Company career at Alabama Power in 1991 as a Distribution engineering co-op student and moved to Georgia Power in 1996, serving in various Transmission roles of increasing responsibility.

In April 2022, she was inducted into the Distinguished Engineering Fellows at the University of Alabama. Forehand earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Augusta State University.
