Mississippi Power has announced that Comptroller Matt Grice will become the company’s next Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer on March 1.
Grice joined Mississippi Power in 2004 as a financial analyst and has held jobs of increasing responsibility in finance and accounting that position him well for his new role. He served as Finance Director and was elected by the company’s Board of Directors to be Assistant Treasurer in 2018. In 2020, he was elected Comptroller where he leads and directs our accounting functions.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead and continue working with such a dedicated team,” said Grice. “Our Accounting, Finance and Treasury group works diligently to deliver results for our customers, the communities we serve and our company.”
Grice is respected across Southern Company for his work on several system initiatives and is an established community leader. He was named a Top 10 Business Leader Under 40 and is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi and Leadership Gulf Coast. He’s currently serving on the boards of the Mississippi Aquarium and Leadership Gulf Coast. He is a former chair of the boards at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center and the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce.
Grice earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Matt, his wife, Susan, and their three children, Caroline, Andrew, and Bennett reside in Gulfport.
