Boy Scouts help install new American flag at Hattiesburg bill payment office

When the Hattiesburg bill payment office needed to replace its American flag, the first people that came to mind were the Boy Scouts.

Boy Scout Troop 93, based at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg, was invited to practice their flag ceremony skills by hanging the new flag.

About 20 scouts participated in the ceremony and met several requirements by participating – Service Project, Flag Ceremony and Troop Event – said Joey Jarrell, customer service supervisor at the office.

The old flag will be retired in a proper flag ceremony.
