Energy Efficiency tips highlighted on “Shop South Mississippi”

Mississippi Power Residential Marketing Representative Jamie Daniels and Residential Energy Auditor Randy Fischer taped a segment on energy efficiency tips for an upcoming episode of WLOX-TV’s popular “Shop South Mississippi” program on Friday.

Daniels and Fischer conducted an energy audit at a customer’s home in Long Beach, offered tips to save electricity during the winter and discussed savings customers can see if they implement minor changes to their energy use habits.

“Customers have more control over their energy usage than they realize,” Daniels said. “There are some really simple, really inexpensive steps you can take to see a significant change in your energy usage and your monthly bill.”

Jim Tabor, host of “Shop South Mississippi,” said segments on energy efficiency are popular with viewers because they can immediately take action to begin getting more out of their energy dollars.

“Some of these tips are no-brainers,” Tabor said. “I know I’m going to start thinking about my thermostat setting a lot more than I do right now.”
