Providing a positive impact on young people is one of many reasons why Mississippi Power was recognized with the “Leading the Change” award from Tougaloo College and the United Negro College Fund. Company Corporate Services Vice President Johnny Atherton and five others were recognized for promoting and supporting educational access Dec. 10 in Biloxi.
“At Mississippi Power we pride ourselves on embracing and leading change, and we are honored to have this long-lasting partnership with Tougaloo College to provide a positive impact to our young people and our future in Mississippi,” Atherton said.
“The “Leading the Change” initiative and scholarship provides great synergy for Tougaloo College and Mississippi Power by providing opportunities to students who will comprise our future workforce.”
Some of those students were on hand to perform at the event, including Tougaloo’s jazz ensemble band and show choir.
