Mississippi Power is joining WLOX television on the Coast and WDAM television in Hattiesburg in honoring and celebrating the cultural history and leadership of African Americans through video ads during Black History Month.
The ads pay tribute to individuals, many of whom were pioneers in their fields, such as George Washington Carver who was a chemist and botanist, Mary McLeod Bethune, an educator and civil rights activist, and Marian Anderson, a diplomat and the first African American to perform with the New York Metropolitan Opera.
“The history of these individuals is part of everyone’s history,” said Corporate Advertising and Branding Account Executive Danielle Kimbrough. “Their accomplishments have served as inspiration for generations past and surely will inspire generations to come.”
