In a little more than a month, Mississippi Power’s Energy Efficiency programs have helped educate customers on saving energy, and in turn, save money on their power bills.
New Programs aimed at promoting energy savings have been effective for customers looking for smart energy use through education and low-cost energy saving actions.
“A customer called to say thank you from the bottom of her heart,” said Mississippi Power Energy Efficiency Associate Mitzi Starcher. “We added insulation to her father’s home. She had wanted to add it for him but wasn’t able to do so. We are making a difference to our customers.”
Here are some 30-day highlights from the Energy Efficiency Programs:
• The company’s Residential Lighting Program has distributed more than 35,000 CFL bulbs throughout the service territory in just two weeks, largely driven by energy efficiency staff and customer service representatives.
• The company’s Neighborhood Efficiency Program has already conducted 65 Home Efficiency Audits since mid-November.
• More than 20,000 randomly-selected customers are currently receiving monthly Home Energy Reports comparing their energy usage to similar size homes and educating them on energy efficiency.
