Update: Storm crews still working in Dallas

A team of 75 Mississippi Power linemen, engineers and support personnel travelled to the Dallas area this weekend to assist Oncor with its restoration efforts.

More than 200,000 customers lost electric service after severe weather moved across north Texas on Thursday.

Mississippi Power worked safely throughout the weekend and Monday morning they continued assisting Oncor crews in Duncanville and Grand Prairie.

“Our crews are undertaking a range of work orders,” Distribution Manager Tony Carroll said. “From replacing broken service wires and transformers at inaccessible locations to installing new poles at main feeders, we are seeing a little bit of everything.”
