Mike Hazelton has been named vice president of the Customer Services Organization, replacing Jeff Franklin who will be taking another position with Southern Company.

Franklin has been named vice president of supply chain management at Southern Company Services.

“Jeff’s dedication and leadership will be greatly missed,” CEO Ed Holland said. “He has shown time and again his commitment to our customers, our reliability and the communities we serve.”

“We know that Mike will continue to lead the CSO with the same dedication to customer service, reliability and our communities. His experience will prove invaluable to his new role,” Holland added.

His leadership positions include area manager in Hartwell, Ga.; area distribution manager in Austell, Ga.; project manager and land acquisition manager. In 2011, he was elected vice president of Northeast Region where he was responsible for leading Georgia Power’s operations in power delivery, engineering, customer service, sales, economic and community development and external affairs activities in northeast Georgia.

Hazelton has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in business administration from Columbus State University.
