Mississippi Power’s economic development website, formerly known as Mega Mississippi, has been rebranded and can now be found at mississippipowerED.com . The redesigned website highlights the availability of southeast Mississippi sites and buildings, the state’s trained workforce, and Mississippi Power’s reliability and services.
“We’ve implemented several innovative programs to help make our region and state even more competitive for economic development,” said Brian Useforge, economic development director. “The re-launch of this website makes our information more accessible for visitors to the site and helps us position ourselves as a top resource for economic development in our region.”
The economic development rebrand is a result of the department’s continued work to represent Mississippi Power across the region and internationally as it looks to drive business to southeast Mississippi. The new website and redesigned materials will help emphasize Mississippi Power as a Southern Company brand, which is highly recognizable among site selectors as a reliable energy company, Useforge said.
Site selectors can see at a glance where available properties are located, find detailed information for each property and see greenfield sites that are certified as Project Ready.® Sites designed as Project Ready certify the land is available, fully served (utility infrastructure is either planned or in place), and developable (environmental assessments and any necessary mitigation complete).
Additionally, the website provides a wealth of information about the state’s workforce – incentives, demographics, and education – as well as resources such as reference maps related to transportation.
