Cynthia Trotter has been with Mississippi Power for seven years and currently works in the Fuel Services Department, providing administrative and regulatory support.
“In the fuels department, I have the opportunity to understand fuel pricing and get heavily involved in the audit filing process for the PSC, compiling data requests,” said Trotter. “I enjoy providing great customer service to my internal and external customers by building and maintaining relationships.
“I love reading about law enforcement and business and investing in my personal growth by attending classes outside of the company. I’m always looking for an opportunity to advance my career.”
Trotter served eight years in the Air National Guard, has a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and a master’s in criminal justice. She is a member of the board for Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers and has been a part-time police officer for the Pascagoula Police Department for almost eight years.
She and her husband, John, went through the police academy together.
“He wasn’t happy about it, but I told him either be mad or enjoy the experience with me and he did,” said Trotter. “Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be an FBI agent. I have an investigative mind and like to solve problems and get results.
“I like helping people, seeing others be successful, assisting with community events and especially talking with children and the elderly.”
As a health fanatic, she loves CrossFit workouts. She is currently in training to compete in a women’s fitness competition.
“It’s a lot of physical and mental preparation, and it may take me another year to gain the conditioning I want, but I’ll get there. Once you see results it’s addictive,” she said.
She is also passionate about rebuilding her Louis Vuitton collection that was lost to Hurricane Katrina. Her love of everything “Louie” is so great that she is converting a room in her home to what she calls the Louis Vuitton Palace.
“There is no such thing as free time in the Trotter household. However, there are many, many, many miles on our vehicles from traveling to soccer games and tournaments,” Trotter said. “I am excited that my 14-year old son was recruited to play soccer in Spain and Amsterdam for two and a half weeks, and of course, the whole family will go.”
She and John have two sons, 16-year-old E. John “LJ” Jr. and 14-year old Seth. Her family describes her as a girly girl, tomboy, country girl and professional all wrapped in one.
“They also warn people not to dare me to do something, because its look out, here she comes,” Trotter said.
