Tommy Murphy named Mississippi Power Coast Division Manager

Mississippi Power has named Tommy Murphy as the new Coast Division Manager. Murphy will manage all customer service functions and will represent Mississippi Power as a leader

in the community, responsible for all external activities in the Coast Division.

Murphy currently serves as the Community Development Director where he is responsible for leading the company’s efforts in community partnership initiatives with key external stakeholders at a local, regional and state level.

“I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to serve our customers across the Coast,” Murphy said. “South Mississippi is my home and I look forward to working with our employees in Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Stone and George counties.”

A native of Pascagoula, Murphy joined Mississippi Power in 1985 and has served as Chief Information Officer, Employee Relations manager, Bay St. Louis area manager and Economic Development national recruiter.

“Tommy brings three decades of proven leadership, strong external relationships, a strategic vision and broad company knowledge to his new role,” Vice President of Customer Services Organization Nicole Faulk said. “His experience across our company will serve him well as he continues the positive relationships we have with our customers across the Coast Division.”

Murphy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology management program.
