At work, Trenidy Davis can increase bandwidth or fix the anomaly that’s slowing down computers.

Those are just some of the things he does as the Pine Belt Division’s senior information technology analyst. Davis has been with Mississippi Power for 20 years, and as an IT analyst, he supports all different areas of the business.

“I started as a co-op student working at the General Office in IT’s Application Services Department,” he said. “I feel like I was a first-generation PC geek.  My parent’s purchased my first computer for me when I was about 10 years old and I really never looked back.”

At home, it’s less about technology and more about family values. He and his wife J.J. have three children — Lizzy (15), Ally (13), and T.J. (9) — who have been home-schooled by their parents for the last eight years.

Davis enjoys reading books but he also likes to listen to them on tape. One subject he’s quite passionate about is Principle Centered Leadership (PCL).

“I’ve been a 7 Habits facilitator for the past three years and I’m a part of the PCL Council,” he added.  “Peter Drucker said, ‘Culture eats strategy for breakfast.’  I take this to mean that Southern Style and PCL (the how’s) are critical business features.”

Trenidy’s also a devout Andy Griffith fan.

“I have all of the old black-and-white episodes on DVD,” Davis said. “I can give you a run for your money on Andy Griffith trivia.”
