Plant Daniel units 1 and 2 earn Operational Excellence Award

Plant Daniel units 1 and 2 have been recognized by Navigant for their demonstrated excellence in cost and operational management, as well as improved performance and reliability.

The units, and the employees that operate them, earned runner-up in the Large Coal division of Navigant’s Generation Knowledge Service Plant Operational Excellence Awards. This category is for plants with an average unit size range of more than 500 MW.

“Every employee at Plant Daniel recognizes the service and value they provide our customers,” said Plant Manager Nik Budney. “I’m proud of the work we do here every day. With an eye on safety, we are here to meet our customers’ needs.”

The GKS Plant Operational Excellence Awards are based on a review of cost and performance data over the most recent five-year period for coal-fired plants (2013-17).
