Faulk “Speaks Up” at Success Women’s Conference

Mississippi Power Vice President of Customer Service and Operations Nicole Faulk spoke to an audience of women at the Success Women’s Conference in Biloxi on Friday. The session titled “Speak Up!” focused on self-confidence and the importance of women advocating for themselves in their professions.

The panel featured Faulk, along with Ronnika Ann McFall, a communications consultant and Karol Brandt, executive casino host at Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort. The discussion was led by panel moderator, Crystal Stretching of Gulf Coast Woman Magazine.

Each of the panelists shared information on their various backgrounds, career paths and personal experiences of being women in today’s workforce. Attendees were challenged to empower themselves and work diligently to reach their highest potential.

Faulk spoke about the importance of women advocating for themselves. “If we want opportunities to change and have a seat at the decision table, we have to do more, speak louder and do what it takes to be heard,” said Faulk. “We must be seen as a priority, own the issues and not expect someone else to fix the problem.”

This is the third year of the Success Women’s Conference. The two-day event featured more than 60 speakers, including television personalities Robin Roberts and Lisa Nichols. This year’s theme was “Going Vertical” and more than 1,000 professional women attended the conference.
