Mississippi Power VP honored among state’s Most Influential African Americans

Mississippi Power Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Moses Feagin recently was honored among the state’s Most Influential African Americans of 2019 as selected by Our Mississippi magazine.

Feagin, who also serves as the company’s chief financial officer and treasurer, was recognized with 24 other dynamic leaders at a gala and awards ceremony in Jackson.

“It’s truly an honor for me to be selected among so many outstanding individuals who are making such a significant contribution in Mississippi,” said Feagin. “Looking around this room, I am humbled by those in attendance. We’re surrounded by success stories who are mentors and leaders in business, law, education, our communities and government — the people who are the real game-changers for Mississippi. Their stories are what inspire future generations of Mississippi leaders.”

The 2019 induction class was selected by an independent panel of statewide and community leaders from nominations received from the public. In addition, six Mississippians were chosen as Legacies.

“What an incredible group of individuals that have done so much for the state of Mississippi,” said Our Mississippi publisher Wesley Wells. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to pay homage to them for all their contributions to this state. These are the kind of people society will be talking about 50-100 years from now.”

This year’s class represented a diverse group of leaders that were nominated in different categories that included business, education, politics, religion, media and servant leadership.
