Celebrate Earth Day with Louie’s Outdoor Classroom

Today is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, and although stay-at-home and social distancing orders are still in place, the company has a few recommended outdoor activities for employees and families looking to celebrate.

Mississippi Power has launched Louie’s Outdoor Classroom for families wanting to get outdoors and learn more about Mother Nature.

The online resource includes activities like a scavenger hunt with Louie the Lightning Bug and instructions on how to create a rock garden. The educational activities are geared towards young children and families who may normally be stuck indoors during the pandemic.

 

Looking for additional ways to help the planet? Put on your Community Connection shirt and take a walk around your neighborhood to pick up litter. You can also take advantage of sunny weather by planting a new tree or flowers in your backyard.
