The Mississippi Power Board of Directors have elected Matt Grice as Mississippi Power Comptroller and Ann Barrett Ladner as Finance Director and Assistant Treasurer. The moves are effective July 1, 2020.
Grice currently serves as Finance Director and Assistant Treasurer. He is responsible for directing the financial planning and budget departments as well as leading the company’s overall finance activities and financial strategy development. In 2018, he assumed the board-elected position of Assistant Treasurer for the company.
In his new role as Comptroller, Matt will be responsible for leading and directing the company’s accounting functions including supporting regulatory proceedings, organizational initiatives, process improvement efforts and external financial reporting.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He is a graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast and was named a Top 10 Business Leader under 40; in addition, he has actively served as a board member for several community and non-profit organizations and is currently enrolled in Leadership Mississippi.
He will replace Cindy Shaw, who recently announced her retirement after more than 35 years with Mississippi Power.
Ladner currently serves as the company’s Financial Planning Supervisor. She oversees the company’s financial projections used to provide strategic guidance to executive management, set financial expectations for Southern Company and generate regulatory filings in both retail and wholesale jurisdictions. In addition, she has responsibility for all financial analysis.
In her new role as Finance Director and Assistant Treasurer, Ladner will direct the company’s financial planning, financial analysis and budget organizations and will be responsible for the company’s overall financial strategy development. As the Assistant Treasurer, she will oversee the treasury function, including responsibility for enterprise risk management.
Ladner holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Master of Taxation from the University of Mississippi and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for Lynn Meadows, is a life member of Junior Auxiliary; she is also involved in company, church and local school initiatives.
