Frank Dawson participating in Honorary Commanders Program at KAFB
Mississippi Power Economic Development Manager Frank Dawson, along with other business leaders from across Coastal Mississippi, is participating in the 403rd Wing’s Honorary Commanders Program at Keesler Air Force Base.
The 403rd Wing is an Air Force Reserve tenant unit at Keesler. The Honorary Commanders Program is an opportunity for military and civilian leaders to join forces and learn about each other's career fields.
“I come from a large military family that spans several generations, and I am a U.S. Army veteran who served as a Military Police Officer,” Dawson said. “Knowing the importance of the 403rd’s mission and the total community and economic impact that Keesler plays in our community, I am honored to be chosen as an ambassador for the installation and it’s command.”
Dawson will be paired with Col. Reggie Trujillo of the 403rd Mission Support Group in the two-year program.
Dawson will also have the opportunity to attend events at the base such as military ceremonies for retirements, promotions, and changes of command. As an honorary commander, Dawson can also invite Trujillo to Mississippi Power events.
“We’re all about building partnerships both within the Team Keesler family and in the community,” said Col. Stuart M. Rubio, 403rd Wing commander. “We feel extremely blessed to have such a supportive community surrounding Keesler, and this program is a great way to strengthen our ties and give them exposure to our missions.”
The 81st Training Wing and 2nd Air Force Command are also participating in the program with community leaders and several mayors from cities in Coastal Mississippi.
