Leisure Pools launching manufacturing, distribution center in Picayune

Leisure Pools, one of the world’s largest composite fiberglass swimming pool, spa and tanning ledge manufacturers, has finalized plans to establish manufacturing and distribution operations in Picayune.

The project is a $3.25 million corporate investment and will create 100 jobs.

“They will be locating in the Picayune Industrial Park in an 83,200-square-foot facility,” Economic Development Representative Melissa Morel said. “We became aware of this project in late 2020 and were able to meet the company’s needs and helped them locate in the middle of one of their service territories.”

There are two phases to Leisure Pools plans in Picayune. The first phase is a warehousing and distribution facility to serve the Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama markets. The second phase will be a planned building adjacent to the current location where the company will introduce a new manufacturing line of whirlpools and hot tubs.

“On a pretty tight timeline, Melissa worked with our partners at the Mississippi Development Authority and in Pearl River County to address the client’s needs,” Economic Development Manager Steven Dick said.

“This is an exciting project that is bringing jobs to Pearl River County and growth to our state. Everyone involved in this project from MDA and the Pearl River County Economic Development Department was focused on bringing Leisure Pools to south Mississippi,” Vice President of External Affairs and Shared Services Billy Thornton said.
