TJ Pruitt recognized by Auburn University in award ceremony

Shared Services Supervisor TJ Pruitt was recently called back to his alma mater, Auburn University, for a special reason.

The Auburn Alumni Engineering Council recognized Pruitt as one of three Outstanding Young Auburn Engineers. The organization also recognized six Distinguished Auburn Engineers as well as the college’s former assistant dean for his service.

“It felt great to be back at Auburn,” said Pruitt. “It was such an honor to be chosen for this award, and I continue to feel inspired to give back to my community in ways that ensure more promising engineers will be recognized after me.”

Pruitt graduated from Auburn in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He has since stayed active with the University Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board, the Engineering Academic Excellence Program Advisory Board and the Young Alumni Council. He’s also served as a campus recruiter for both Alabama Power and Mississippi Power.

“It’s always a pleasure to see our employees recognized for their hard work and career contributions,” said Distribution General Manager Randall Pinkston. “We’re very proud of TJ for receiving this award, and this is certainly a testament of his commitment to his education and community.”

In his acceptance speech, Pruitt said, “Being chosen for this award feels like a dream that I will wake up from, but I can promise you this – when I do wake up, I’ll still bleed orange and blue. War Eagle!”
