Mississippi Power donates bottled water to residents of Jackson
As communities and businesses across the state rally to support residents in and around Jackson, Mississippi Power donated 30 pallets of bottled water to residents in the capital city.
The more than 40,000 individual bottles of water will be delivered to Jackson State University where community partners will then distribute them to those affected by the water crisis.
“Our customers understand the impacts of natural disasters along the Gulf Coast,” said Supply Chain Management Operations Manager Tommy Castanedo. “In times like this, it’s all about neighbors helping neighbors. We’re happy to join the community-wide efforts to help those in need.”
In August 2021, Mississippi Power contributed to a similar effort by donating more than 20 pallets of water to victims in Louisiana following Hurricane Ida.
