Stacy Lester recognized as a top 50 Economic Developer

Mississippi Power Growth Initiatives Project Manager Stacy Lester has been named one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers in 2022 by Consultant Connect.

The economic developers selected for this list were nominated by their colleagues in both the economic development and site location consulting industries for excellent practices, innovation and success in building the communities they serve.

“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be included on this list,” said Lester. “Mississippi Power’s service territory allows our team to tell a wonderful story to businesses and industries looking to relocate or expand. I’m so thankful to be a part of the team that works every day to shape Mississippi’s future.”

Lester focuses on developing innovative ways to engage with companies to put Mississippi on their radar. She also works diligently to build relationships with the next generation of economic development professionals.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many incredible developers and mentors throughout my 15-year career,” said Lester. “I love to give back to younger economic developers, especially younger women, so they have the opportunity to shine and make an impact in the communities they serve.”

“Stacy understands that building and maintaining relationships at the local, county, state and national level is the key to economic development success,” said Economic Development Director Brian Useforge. “This honor is certainly well deserved and also highlights the incredible economic development talent that we have at Mississippi Power.”
