Stay safe and bright this Halloween with Mississippi Power

Gulfport, Miss. – Mississippi Power wants to remind customers there are a few things they can do to make sure their neighborhoods stay safe and bright this Halloween.

Customers can report a streetlight outage in their neighborhood ahead of Halloween weekend by visiting the Mississippi Power website here or by calling 1-800-ITS-DARK.

“Safety is always a priority at Mississippi Power, and we want to make sure our communities are well-lit for the many families that will be trick-or-treating this Halloween,” said Spokeswoman Kaila Moran Griffith. “By reporting a streetlight outage and following some basic safety tips, your family can stay safe while having fun.”

To make sure your family stays safe while out trick-or-treating, Mississippi Power recommends the following tips:

·         Take sidewalks whenever possible

·         Use reflective tape on the back and front of costumes

·         Only visit areas that are well-lit

·         Always travel in groups

·         Carry a flashlight and cell phone

·         Pay attention to small children by putting down electronics while walking
