Fall into savings with Mississippi Power

Gulfport, Miss. – Mississippi Power has the resources, rebates, tips and incentives for customers to save money as temperatures across southeast Mississippi begin to drop.

“As we start to experience cooler fall weather, this is a great time to do an energy audit on your household,” said Mississippi Power Spokeswoman Kaila Moran Griffith. “While it may not take as much energy to cool or warm your household this time of year, we recommend that our customers keep building better energy habits to see long-term savings on their bills.”

With Halloween and other festive holidays just around the corner, customers can follow these tips to reduce their energy usage:

• Unplug energy vampires: Unplug electronics and chargers when not in use.
• Brew up energy savings: Use a slow cooker for holiday party treats. It uses less energy than a traditional oven and keeps kitchens cooler.
• Set the scene with smart lighting: Use smart plugs and timers to control your Halloween lights, ensuring they only run when needed.
• Treat your HVAC to a tune-up: Service your HVAC unit annually to increase its longevity and efficiency.

Additionally, customers looking for ways to better manage their household budgets can apply for Mississippi Power’s Budget Billing program.
