Mississippi Power donates to Newton County Sheriff's Department

Gulfport, Miss. - Mississippi Power’s Corporate Security department recently donated a metal detector to the Newton County Sheriff's Department in an ongoing effort to promote community safety.

“We are grateful for the resources to help our public safety partners in keeping our customers and communities safe and secure,” said Corporate Security Manager Chris Loposser. “Safety is our top priority at Mississippi Power, and we extend that commitment to the communities we serve.”

Newton County Sheriff Joedy Pennington said the metal detector will help investigators locate metallic evidence, such as shell casings, at crime scenes. Providing essential tools to law enforcement can enhance the efficiency of criminal investigations while proactively supporting the well-being of the community.

The donation reinforces the company's commitment to fostering win-win relationships with local law enforcement agencies across the service territory and supporting their efforts to maintain public safety.
