Mississippi Power storm team travels to Alabama to assist restoration

Gulfport, Miss. - A Mississippi Power storm team of approximately 80 Mississippi Power line crew, support personnel and contract resources traveled to Alabama to support restoration efforts. 

The crews arrived and immediately began restoring service to customers who had been impacted by a severe line of storms over the weekend.

“We know that storm season is year-round, and severe weather can impact our area at any time,” said Shared Services Manager Matt Fall. “Our storm-tested team is always ready to respond and assist our neighbors when they need us.”

Crews are currently working safely in the Tuscaloosa area and have made significant progress. Damage included downed poles, trees and wire. 

Mississippi Power is a part of a mutual assistance program and regularly sends crews to neighboring states when additional restoration assistance is needed.
