Mississippi Power to light up new Lucedale soccer complex
Gulfport, Miss. – The George County board of supervisors and the Lucedale city council recently approved a seven-year lease agreement for Mississippi Power to provide lighting for a sprawling new soccer complex that will open later this year.
“We provide lighting for several parks and facilities in Lucedale, so when talk began about this soccer complex about a year ago, we started getting a proposal together,” said Local Manager Dirk Turner. “We came up with a good plan and worked with the county and city to reach a win-win-win agreement.”
The complex, located off King Street in Lucedale, will include 14 soccer fields plus a concession stand.
“This agreement is the culmination of a lot of hard work,” said Lighting Services Sales Supervisor Lee Hall. “We have a great partnership with the city and county, so we’re excited to provide lighting to this new facility. Now we’re ready to start the construction phase.”
The company will be setting 31 poles at the complex and about 105 LED lights will eventually shine on the fields.
