Wayne General Hospital earns $30,000 energy efficiency rebate from Mississippi Power

Mississippi Power’s Energy Efficiency Program recently provided Wayne General Hospital with a $30,000 rebate for completing energy-saving upgrades at its facility in Waynesboro. The hospital’s improvements included replacing outdated indoor light panels, installing new parking lot lights and updating fixtures at its nearby clinic.

“Our energy efficiency programs are designed to deliver real value for our customers,” said Energy Efficiency Market Specialist Randy Fischer. “Wayne General Hospital’s upgrades are a perfect example of how these solutions improve safety and create long-term benefits for the entire community.”

The modifications have made a noticeable difference in safety and visibility for patients and staff, while also improving energy usage. Looking ahead, Wayne General Hospital plans to continue using the company’s program to support enhancements to its chillers later this year, further improving operational efficiency.

“It has been dark on this campus for years, and the difference now is incredible. The new parking lot lights have helped tremendously, and we've replaced a ton of outdated fixtures thanks to Mississippi Power,” said Wayne General Hospital Maintenance Director Dillon Slay. “These upgrades improve safety and visibility for our staff and patients while helping us save energy and operate more efficiently. We're thankful for this partnership that makes a real impact.”

Mississippi Power’s Energy Efficiency Program offers rebates and incentives to help customers make energy-saving upgrades that lower costs and improve performance. The hospital’s improvements serve as an example of how Mississippi Power's Energy Efficiency team creates lasting benefits for businesses and communities across the service territory.

“We want every customer to know about the opportunities available to them,” said Market Specialist Derron Radcliff. “By taking advantage of our rebates, the hospital was able to make significant improvements without bearing the full cost. It’s extremely rewarding to see the value of these partnerships.”
