Project Ready Sites

Southeast Mississippi has a wide range of industrial sites and buildings, as well as commercial office buildings that are available for occupancy. Thirteen greenfield sites have been certified as Project Ready®.

Project Ready

Mississippi Power understands that, in today's agile economy, increased speed to market is a key driver in a company's location decision. Before you invest, you want assurance that the properties under consideration are development ready, thoroughly vetted and risk free.

The Project Ready® Certified Sites program was established to address those issues, help facilitate your decision making process and provide a significant competitive edge. With a Project Ready® certified site, you not only save considerable time and financial resources, you also gain the added confidence that comes from an independent, third party verification of a prospective site's suitability and readiness.

Program Guidelines
Designed by nationally-recognized site selection consultant, Jeanette Goldsmith, The Project Ready® program's rigorous evaluation process grants certification only to those sites that align with the most stringent national economic development standards. Before certification is complete, Project Ready® applicants must provide the following documentation to demonstrate the site's readiness:

  • Phase I Environmental completed within the past 5 years
  • Wetlands Delineation completed within the past 5 years
  • Documentation of archeological findings, historic sites, or structures within the past 5 years
  • Documentation of rare or endangered species within the past 5 years
  • Geotechnical assessment completed within the past 15 years

Development Categories
The Project Ready® program certifies properties in the following four development categories:

  • Super Site
  • Large Industrial Site
  • General Industrial Site
  • Industrial Park

Each development category has a different set of minimum criteria. These are based on the actual business requirements of companies seeking new facility locations.

Mississippi Power is committed to partnering with companies that are interested in the many economic advantages offered by locating their operations in our state.
